Configure cluster

Note

If you plan on deploying OpenStack using YAOOK/Operator on top of your Tarook cluster, please refer to the cluster requirements of yaook/operator to see which features are recommended and required to be present in your Kubernetes cluster.

There are many configuration options available, but the minimum set of options that need to be set in the configuration file ./config/default.nix within the cluster repository are the following ones:

• yk8s.infra.cluster_name

• yk8s.infra.subnet_cidr

• yk8s.proxmox.enabled

• yk8s.proxmox.ipv4_gateway_address and/or yk8s.proxmox.ipv6_gateway_address

• yk8s.proxmox.pool_id

• yk8s.proxmox.clone.vm_id

• yk8s.proxmox.clone.node_name

• yk8s.proxmox.datastore_id

• yk8s.proxmox.nodes

Note

Calico’s MTU is set to a default of 1500 for non-OpenStack deployments.

In eBPF mode, VXLAN is used to forward Kubernetes NodePort traffic. Depending on your network configuration, you need to manually adjust yk8s.kubernetes.network.calico.helm.values.installation.calicoNetwork.mtu.
